In this recent master bathroom total remodel, we first removed all of the old wall and drywall, to expose all plumbing and make everything up to-date before installing the new fixtures, cabinets, and tiles.
After putting in top of the line bathroom USG Green Drywall, Durock, and floor slope sand mix (cement based), what really holds it tight and protects the home, we could start putting together the parts everyone will see: 3” metal corner to reinforce the existing metal framing, extra PT framing, shower pan, Durock, weather-proofing membrane, wall tile thin set, tile, and finishing with grout.
Durock all the way up to the top of the shower head, all around the shower areas.

The small tile detail gives a nice linear flow to the room.
The wainscoting is a classic way to add some texture to a half-wall.
New tall cabinets and bathroom vanity gave more storage in a classic design.
The shower seat and built-in wall shelving are nice touches for comfort and storage.
The stainless fixtures and hardware, and the different hues of whites in the cabinets, countertop, shower, and walls were brought together by the small line of tile through the shower.
Clip hinges give a clean look through the 3/8” tempered shower enclosure glass door.
Classic handicap silver grab bar
Merging two design styles is a unique way to pull together a room. A classic mirror frame, antiqued finish on the cabinets, mixed with the modern light fixture and shower, gives this remodel its eclectic yet pulled together look.
Long vanity mirror enhances the feeling of a larger bathroom.
